Utility Portofino

Utility Portofino

The sea, as it once was.

The Portofino Utility was developed in the 1980s, when Giorgio Mussini decided to reimagine the elegant pleasure boats that sailed the Gulf of Tigullio in the 1930s.
He pictured a safe, family-friendly boat where children could play happily and where cruising would be enjoyable for all, even in choppy seas.

That vision led to the creation of the first Utility, the forerunner of all subsequent models: a robust and harmonious wooden boat combining practicality and beauty, simplicity and prestige.
A minor masterpiece that still retains the charm of its origins and the spirit of Portofino, the place that gave it its name and soul.

The myth of Portofino, today as yesterday.

Built to last, designed to thrill

The flat hull ensures stability even when on the move, while the streamlined bow and high-performance engine provide speed and manoeuvrability.
The stern flaps optimise the boat’s sailing trim, offering a smooth and safe experience in all conditions.

The simple yet comprehensive dashboard makes the boat easy to operate.
The engine size can be chosen according to the owner’s needs, meaning the Utility can even be driven without a boat licence.

Built entirely by hand using fine woods and finished with painstaking attention to detail, this boat is designed to stand the test of time and be passed down through the generations

A bond that transcends time

To cruise on a Portofino Utility is to encounter the sea in an authentic way: a mixture of peace, light and shared experiences.
It is a boat that invites one to slow down, enjoy the silence, breathe in the scent of wood, and feel part of an ongoing story.

For many owners, it has become a symbol of Portofino, and of a way of enjoying the sea that blends elegance and simplicity.
Because having a Utility is not just about owning a boat — it’s about belonging to a tradition, and appreciating the kind of beauty that never goes out of style.

The pleasures of life at sea

The generous sun deck at the bow and the comfortable cockpit at the stern make the Utility perfectly suited to relaxing and socialising.
Benches with cushions run around the perimeter, while in the centre, the fold-out table, made from the engine cover, transforms the area into a lounge on the water.

The stern deck features a retractable ladder and a freshwater shower, for effortless diving and reboarding.
The elegant and practical white canopy provides shade during the hottest hours of the day, while the iconic rope edging around the exterior is an unmistakable signature of Mussini style.
